Chintu (Vedant Raj Chibber) is a cute little six-year-old, who lives in a small Baghdad neighborhood with his parents, father Madan (Vinay Pathak) and mother Sudha (Tilottama Shome), his elder sister Lakshmi (Bisha Chaturvedi) and his Nani (Seema Pahwa). The family is like a normal Bihari family – living mundane lives, punctuated by the occasional bickering between Madan and his mother in law. They live out of the country but long to get back to India.
Chintu has a wish of celebrating his sixth birthday, but right on the day, American forces run riot in Baghdad, and the threat of war looms large. The rest of the story focuses on how, despite the perilous conditions, Madan goes about organizing Chintu’s birthday exactly as the little boy had wished it to be.
