Visaranai Tamil Film is India’s Oscar Entry 2017

The much most awaited official announcement regarding India’s official Oscar entry has been made. The jury has picked up Visaranai  the Tamil blockbuster film as their official Oscar entry from India this time.The hard-hitting crime drama movie Visaranai directed by Vetri Maaran has been produced by Dhanush under his home banner. Visaranai is selected under “Best Foreign Language Film category at the Academy Awards”. Noted filmmaker Ketan Mehta headed the jury, and he has revealed the news to the media in the press meet that was held in Hyderabad a short while ago.

Along with ‘Visarani’ there are some other noted and popular films in the category which includes ‘Thithi’ from Kannada, Sairat from Marathi and 3 other Bollywood films: Nil Battey Sannata, Udta Punjab, and Neerja. its indeed a proud moment for the South film industry to see that a South film has been chosen for Oscars.
