Tollywood Stars From Big Screen to Small Screen are Changing the Games
The Telugu cinema seems to be going through a transformation in terms of acceptance by the stars and audience, and the choice of content by the actors. This transformation is now shifting gears as many big stars are now staging big shows on television and digital platforms.
Any avid Telugu cinema lover would be quite thrilled when he or she gets to know that their favorite star will now appear on television, and probably this seems to the idea behind the stars moving to small screens.
Akkineni Nagarjuna took up the Telugu version of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), titled Meelo Evaru Koteswarudu (MEK) and became a sensation with his touching hosting skills. The actor had become a favorite of many households and the prime-time slot of television was allocated to him to grab more TRPs.
After Nagarjuna, Mega Star Chiranjeevi graced the show and hosted a complete season. The actor, besides hosting, made a comeback in films too with Khaidi No.150. The show was a moderate success but what kept increasing for the Mega Star was the admiration amongst the small screen viewers.
After these two Super Stars, Jr NTR is now all set to make his debut on television with the reality show Bigg Boss in Telugu which is telecast in Star MAA. This is, by far, one of the biggest moves by a star of that stature keeping in mind the kind of films he could do had he not taken up television. All said and done, fans of the Young Tiger are definitely a happy group after the news came out.
Also, Rana Daggubati is now gearing up to make some waves on the small screen with his upcoming talk show. The actor will host No.1 Yaari show on television. After making it big in films, these actors are now changing their game according to times, to be able to gain the market for themselves.
