India’s leading content distribution platform Tata Sky has launched new ‘Room TV service’. The Tata Sky Room TV Service aims to make it more feasible for subscribers to choose packs for their Multi-TV connections, through steps that are simple and easy to deal with. Through this new service, The Tata Sky aims to offer every family member their choice of entertainment via tailor-made packs & Instant Pack Modifications as per their convenience.

Tata Sky Subscribers can seamlessly choose the content of their choice on the secondary connections and only pay for the selected content. Their secondary connections can now have different channels and services from the base pack selected for the first connection in the house under the same subscriber ID. The Room TV service can be simply availed by subscribers through www.mytatasky.com or the download Tata Sky mobile app on Google store.

Tata Sky, however, did not reveal details about the billing, or network capacity fees (NCF) on secondary connections. Tata Sky introduced variable prices for subscribers who opted Tata Sky Room TV Service for the multi-TV connections. The change in prices meant the primary connection was the base for the secondary connections of the DTH operator. On top of it, the move affected the overall channel prices of the secondary connections which have not been defined in the latest TRAI tariff order.

The deadline on June 15 meant users would have had to pay the NCF on their secondary connections, and also would have forced them to change the packs on their connections or pay the primary price on their secondary connections as well. Airtel Digital TV and Dish TV recently changed their multi-TV policies so as to abide by the TRAI ruling which allows service providers to provide discounts on the NCF for additional connections in the same location.
