Tamil Nadu Election Results 2016 : The assembly elections for the state of Tamil Nadu were held in the month of May on 16th. They were held successfully without many issues and now it’s time for the results to be out. Tamil Nadu elections results 2016 will be released today i.e., on 19th of May, 2016. All the big shot parties are waiting eagerly to hear the results in order to know which party after all forms the government in the state.

Today the votes counting will be started and the results will be announced by May 21st. Most of the channels and websites will provide live counting for the viewers. We are also set to provide our readers with live count of the elections and also the winner’s list party wise in each constituency. In 2001, AIADMK have formed the government in Tamil Nadu by collecting majority of votes with seating Jayalalitha in the higher authority of the state as Chief Minister and DMDK Vijayakanth in the opposition. We have to wait until the results are out to know which party is going to rule for this coming five years.
This time approximately 5.79 crore voters have casted their votes in 234 constituencies. The elections were held in 65, 616 centers around the state of Tamil Nadu on 16th of May. Mainly two parties are fighting for the CM seat in Tamil Nadu. One is AIADMK and another one is DMDK. As per the survey done by many news channels and the exit polls, it is said that both parties have equal chances of winning. Constituencies in Tamil Nadu : Tamil Nadu state has 39 parliamentary constituencies among that 7 constituencies are reserved for candidates of scheduled castes. Some of the parliamentary constituencies are Thiruvallur, Chennai North, Chennai South, Chennai Central, Sriperumbudur, Kancheepuram, Arakkonam, Vellore, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Tiruvannamalai, Arani, Kallakurichi, Salem, Namakkhal, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Pollachi, Dindigul.
There are 234 state assembly constituencies out of which 44 are reserved for candidates belonging to scheduled castes and 2 are reserved for candidates belonging to scheduled tribes. Some of the state assembly constituencies are Hosur, Aravakurichi, Maduravoyal, Athoor, Ambattur, Kurinjipadi, Anna Nagar, Thiruvarur, Cumbum, Mannargudi, Sankari, Poompuhar, Veerapandi, Nagapattinam, Singanallur, Edappadi, Jolarpet, Villivakkam, Papanasam, Tiruchengodu, Kovilpatti, Bhuvanagiri, Kanniyakumari, Villupuram, Manachanallur, Madurai central, Nagercoil, Palani, Melur, Thanjavur. These are some of the important constituencies in Tamil nadu state. There will be peek competition between AIADMK and DMK party. 73.76% votes polled in Tamil Nadu State : It is great to see that Tamil nadu has register 73.76% polling in election 2016. Election commissioner says it is good sign for elections. Few newly married couple from different places has come up to cast their votes directly from wedding hall itself. This story itself tells how much people are concern about their most important human rights i.e., voting. But the unfortunate thing is Chennai has registered least polling percentage when compared to previous years. Till evening 5 pm polling was just 69.11%.
