State Bank of India (SBI) India’s largest bank by asset size, number of customers served and numbers of active branches in the country, recently the State Bank of India issued new guidelines with regard to the sensitive information of customers. State Bank of India and almost all other nationalized and private sector scheduled commercial banks timely update the customers with the latest safety steps and measures to ensure secure banking.
Earlier this month, State Bank of India issued new guidelines via Twitter: “Dear Customers, kindly note that SBI would never seek sensitive information like USER ID, PIN, PASSWORD, CVV, OTP, UPI PIN etc from you. For genuine information, follow our official the SBI social media handles.”
With respect to the corresponding guidelines, all the SBI users are expected to make sure that personal confidential information such as user id, personal identification number (PIN), password of net banking and mobile banking, CVV codes of debit and credit card, one-time passwords (OTP), UPI PIN should be kept secret and private.

SBI has clearly stated that this kind of information won’t be sought from you by the bank and has recommended following social media handles of SBI for genuine information. Such kind of sensitive information shouldn’t be shared with any person asking over a phone call, e-mail, message or through any other medium as it increases the chances of online theft and possibilities of skulduggery.
