The movie opened with decent reviews when it hit the cinemas on June 21st, 2019. Amidst pressures from his parents to hurry up and wed, a young man seeks his perfect match. After many failed attempts with matchmakers, his parents are delighted when their son finally meets the woman of his dreams but things do not go as planned.
Shadaa is a story of a bachelor named Chadta (Diljit Dosanjh). There is an increasing pressure on him from his family to get married. Chadta tries many matches through matchmakers, but none materializes. After a long wait, he finally finds one in Vanjhali (Neeru Bajwa), a wedding planner. However, there is a problem. Vanjhali doesn’t want to marry. She hates the institution of marriage itself and never leaves a chance to convince the same to Chadta.
Vanjhali, on the other hand, is ready to have a live-in relationship or mary if the guy is ready to stay with her parents (the in-laws). Sometimes later, she is engaged with another guy. How Chadta wins her back is the core plot of the movie. It is done with a lot of fun. Jagdeep Sidhu directs the movie which is tailor-made for Diljeet Dosanjh. He also plays a vital supporting role in the film. Hardeep Singh, Hardeep Gill, Anitha Devgan, and Gurpreet Bhangu essay other critical parts. Multiple composers provide the music with background score given by Sandeep Saxena.
