What is cut off?
Cutoff is the minimum marks a candidate must achieve in the online written examination for getting selected in the next round of recruitment process i.e. personal interview. If his marks are less than the decided SBI Clerk Cut off 2016, he will be rejected while if his marks are equal to or more than the cutoff, he shall be selected. The cutoff is primarily released along with the declaration of the scorecard. SBI will not post the scorecard till the complete recruitment process is over. In the scorecard, candidates can check their marks against the respective sectional cutoff. It is important to note that cutoff is applied at several stages: at sectional level (each subject of the examination paper), at an aggregate level (at the total combined marks) and at the final merit list. A candidate must cross all these cutoffs to get finally selected for the post of Clerk in the bank.

What is Sectional cut-off and Overall cut-off ?
For the information of the candidates, every competitive examination has two types of cutoff namely sectional cut off and overall cut off. The sectional cut-off is the minimum score which a candidate is required to score in a particular section/test in order to proceed to the next level and an overall cut-off score is cumulative of all sectional scores which may or may not be equal to the total. Both the sectional and overall cutoff are formulated on the basis of the certain criteria so as to normalize the score.
