Rcom 4G LTE Wi-Pod pocket router for Rs. 2699 : RCom has close to 5 million CDMA subscribers including their EvDO data cards and fixed wireless phones. Rcom has listed their first pocket router with 4G LTE called Wi-Pod which is similar to MiFi device by Jio having the pebble-shaped design.
The Wi-Pod comes with a power button on the front of the device along with 5 Led indicators for showing the LTE signal strength, uplink and downlink data transmission, wifi network, WPS and battery charge level. On the left a micro USB charging and connectivity port is present. The device supports FD-LTE on bands 5 and 3 (850/1800 MHz) and TD-LTE on band 40 (2300 MHz) and is capable of delivering downlink speeds of up to 150 Mbps and uplink speeds of up to 50 Mbps through multi-carrier aggregation.

One feature which is quite impressive is the support for 31 users simultaneously which is greater than even routers. The wifi network is based on the 802.11 b/g/n protocol and on the 2.4 GHz band only. The router comes with a 2300 mAh battery which gets 5-6 hours under normal network conditions and it might decrease if the signal strength is low.
The Rcom Wi-Pod which comes with model number WD670 is available at a price of Rs. 2699 on pre-booking which is available on the official website and is Rs. 500 less than the MRP. The shipping of the device booked via pre-order will be delivered starting from 25th May and for Buy Now option the shipping will start after 30th June.
Rcom has a 1GB per month subscription plan for their earlier model and it is not clear of the new 4G LTE Wi-pod will also get the same plan and there is an option to upgrade to 4G which appears on connecting the device into your PC.
