Brahmotsavam Movie Failed at Box Office: Brahmotsavam Movie in a sort of make-believe—as a feel-good family drama. Watch us as a family and pay for five tickets, instead of one! That’s the only message Brahmotsavam ever has in a virtually non-existent storyline!Be that as it may, granting the benefit of the doubt to the makers that Brahmotsavam, indeed, is a family drama at its heart, what with all the incomprehensible blandness of it all?
Why would you have nothing happening on screen just because you want to display your mastery over characters? Be that as it may, granting the benefit of the doubt to the makers that Brahmotsavam, indeed, is a family drama at its heart, what with all the incomprehensible blandness of it all? Why would you have nothing happening on screen just because you want to display your mastery over characters?
The strongest point of Brahmotsavam is the characters of MaheshBabu, Satyaraj, Revathy, Rao Ramesh, Kajal,Samantha, et al. Kudos! The characters are complete, well-written and well fleshed out. And seasoned actors as they are or beyond, they make the director’s job simplest in terms of staging and execution.
Reasons Why Brahmotsavam Movie Failed at Box Office?
Reasons, why Brahmotsavam Movie became a failure, are obvious and simple. The movie should have had something to interest the audience. But still, let’s objectively analyze why it failed at the box office and what it could have done or have been to achieve some success:
1. Mahesh Babu Wasted :
This is the No. 1 factor that made the audiences unhappy and also angry. You can’t just waste a Superstar like that. Mahesh Babu does nothing at all throughout the film. He is even trolled for his dance movements in one of the songs. If you want to hate a Superstar hero, you must probably try Brahmotsavam or leave it at the hands of Srikanth Addala to do the damage.
2. No Action in the Film :
My first construct was that Mahesh Babu would go to great lengths to save the family or he would use clever tricks to unite a broken family or there would be enough comedy in the film via the ensemble star cast.
Imagine the family falling off a cliff and Mahesh using his brains and strength to save them all or imagine a few heart-touching moments that genuinely move you to tears!
That’s what most of us expected out of Brahmotsavam. What cost Brahmotsavam is the director’s rigidity to not let anything happen on screen.
3. Foolish Direction :
While Mahesh Babu remained so sincere to the script and to the film, the foolish direction by Srikanth Addala cost Brahmotsavam heavily. There were even some ridiculously stupid scenes and almost all the scenes felt that way. There isn’t even one good scene in the boring 158 minutes, which has been trimmed. Trimming the film can’t save it at all, as nothing happens in the remaining 140 minutes, and it is still a bore.
While even the rains aren’t helping Brahmotsavam, the Gods and Deities shown in the movie does not want to help the film either, for misusing their images to exploit family sentiments.
