1971 Beyond Borders Movie Review: The 1971 Beyond Borders is the war drama, which stars Mohanlal in the lead role. The movie, which is the fourth installment of Major Mahadevan series, is written and directed by Major Ravi.

1971 Beyond Borders also features Mohanlal, Allu Sirish, Arunoday Singh, Asha Sarath, Renji Panicker, Sudheer Karamana, Saiju Kurup, Jayakrishnan, Manikuttan etc., in crucial roles.1971 Beyond Borders has been censored with U certificate by the regional censor board, and special fans show start at 8 am on April 7.

1971 Beyond Borders is reported to be having a record release all over India. In Kerala alone, the movie will be screened in above 200 Theatres and the movie will be eyeing to set some big box office records.

1971 – Beyond Borders, a prequel to Kurukshetra, is based on the true events of the 1971 India-Pakistan war. Mohanlal plays a double role, one as iconic Major Mahadevan and as his dad Colonel Sahadevan, and is currently serving the UN Peace Keeping Force. Mahadevan’s biggest strength in his life has always been his father Major Sahadevan, a former soldier in the Indian Army. The movie depicts the story of a mission handled by Colonel Mahadevan, in the backdrop of his father Major Sahadevan’s experiences during the India-Pakistan war of 1971.

The director invests the major portions of the first half to flesh out an emotional layer by focusing on the family relationships of the soldiers – their love and values that though take a backseat at the war front. Mohanlal appears in two characters and three getups within the first 20 minutes before the flashback set in 1971 takes over. The drama portions though are a slight overdose but drive the point home that the director is focusing on showing a balanced view of war from the perspectives of both India and Pakistan soldiers. However, The film has already created pre-release positive buzz.
