Microsoft Edge Browser adds Microsoft Search in Bing: Microsoft has announced new updates to its Edge browser and Bing search engine. Microsoft Edge updates are designed to improve compatibility to Microsoft Edge while increasing the capabilities to find and access corporate information that is known to exist on company intranets. Microsoft has also released a host of features for IT professionals. (Microsoft Office Beta)
- Is our data safe and our privacy protected as we surf the web?
- At work, why can’t we find our internal company information, like our pay stub or co-worker’s office location, right from within our browser or a search engine like we do with a web search?
- Why can’t the web work more seamlessly with the productivity tools we know like Office 365 so that we can be more productive with our research and collaborate with others?
Microsoft updated the Edge logo to reflect the design changes that will “capture the waves of innovation”. The new browser, running on the same Chromium web engine as Google’s Chrome browser, will contain a new feature called Tracking prevention.
Turned on at the beginning, the setting is aimed at protecting the user from phishing schemes, malicious software and new types of malware like cryptojacking.
Microsoft is also testing new features in its Preview Build such as Collections. It will allow the customer to more easily collect web content, organize your research and export that content into Word and Excel for further analysis and collaboration.
With Bing, Microsoft Search has improved the ability to search for information inside your company. Users can search for people by using natural languages, such as by their title, team name, and office location. Users can also search for office location, with answers that show floor plans for directions. Microsoft Search will be available for mobile phones too.
Microsoft has also launched Microsoft Graph Connector in partnership with Accenture, BA Insight and Raytion to expand the reach of Microsoft Search for Microsoft 365 customers.
For IT Professionals, Microsoft has expanded the Microsoft FastTrack deployment program and the App Assure program. The App Assure program aims at improving compatibility for legacy websites on the new Microsoft Edge. Microsoft has also introduced a security baseline with the browser, which are pre-configured groups of security settings and default values that are recommended by the relevant security teams. _ Source.
