The Kalki Telugu Movie Story is set in the native village of Kollapur where two rival gangs are fighting it out and one among them, Shekar Babu gets killed. To investigate this case Kalki (Dr. Rajasekhar) is appointed. He starts getting deep into the case but to his surprise, there is much more to the murder mystery. What is that and how Kalki manages to unravel all this is the entire story of the film?
The Director Prasanth Varma debuted in “Awe”, a different psychological thriller made in a limited budget. His second film “Kalki” is a period investigative thriller. The Kalki film begins interestingly with the voiceover of how the Kollapur region was ruled by the noble family of Rani Ramachandramma. Narsappa who sets eyes on grabbing power puts fire to the palace killing all the royal decedents.
The Kalki first half is a way dull narrative tests patience. Feels like doing time pass without getting into the actual story. But speeds up while approaching towards the interval. Step by step revelations are showcased that were opened in the first half. Compare to the first half, the second half is quite decent as the proceedings were way better formed so as the engagement of the audience too.
Dr.Rajasekhar steals the show with his brilliant acting performance in the Kalki movie. Adah Sharma, Nandita Swetha, and Poojitha Ponnada have little screen presences and they have tried their best woo the audience. Rahul Ramakrishna, Nasser, Ashutosh Rana, Scarlett Wilson, Charandeep, Shatru, and Siddhu Jonnalagadda have also done justice to their roles, say the audience.
Overall Kalki is a good investigative thriller drama. Prasanth Varma has done full justice to the genres. There is nothing special or exciting about this film as the twists are revealed in an interesting manner in the last twenty minutes only. The Plus Points are the performance of Dr. Rajasekhar, direction, and screenplay.
