The Senior Congress leader and former MP from Khammam Jalagam Kondal Rao passed away at his Hyderabad residence on Tuesday. He was ailing for the past some time. He was 90. He was the younger brother of former Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, the late Jalagam Vengala Rao, and uncle of former legislators Jalagam Venkat Rao and Jalagam Prasada Rao of TRS. He served as Vemsoor (Now Sathupalli Assembly constituency) MLA in 1957 and was elected as Khammam Lok Sabha member twice, in 1977 and 1980.

Jalagam Kondal Rao was born at Bayyannagudum in Khammam district on December 10, 1928. He studied at Nizam College and Osmania University in Hyderabad. Jalagam Kondal Rao was the member, Parliament Committee on Private Members’ Bills and Resolutions during 1977-79 and served as the Chairman, Khammam Zilla Parishad, during 1964-70.
