All Toll plazas across national highways have been equipped with enough Point of Sale (PoS) machines to enable people to pay toll fees by card once toll fee collection resumes from midnight on 2 December. Toll fees can also be paid using electronic wallets like Paytm, MobiKwik, and Freecharge.

In addition, the government is also asking people to buy the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)-based FASTags which are put up on the windshield to enable automatic deduction of toll fees from a pre-paid account linked to it.The roads ministry has made arrangements for the sale of FASTags at selected toll fee plazas and will also provide a discount of 10% on the toll fee for those who make immediate use of these tags.
According to the roads ministry, toll plazas would accept the old notes of Rs500 till the midnight of 15 December but only when the toll fee is more than Rs200 and for the purchase of FASTags.In addition, the ministry has also requested highway users to carry adequate amounts of cash With them to avoid any delay.The National Highways Authority of India has started deploying its officers and representatives at all the toll plazas to ensure that there is no disruption in the flow of traffic.
