Barely a couple of weeks after making her acting debut playing NTR’s youngest daughter Uma Maheshwari role in NTR Kathanayakudu. Now, Heroshini Komali is all set to foray into Tamil cinema Industry. That too as the heroine! The final year Mass Communication student of St Mary’s College, Yousufguda, confesses she couldn’t believe it when the director Raja Ghajini approached her to star as the female lead in a Tamil film.
“It’s a surreal feeling. I always knew that I wanted to act in films but I never thought it would all happen so soon and that I would make my debut as a lead actor in a Tamil film,” “when I went to hear the film’s script, it was the first time that I had even been to Chennai. Given that I don’t know the language very well, I knew that I’ll be in for a grind.
But when I heard the script, I saw myself in the character and signed the project then and there,” Heroshini reveals. Talking about her role, she says, “It’s a college drama and I play a typical girl-next-door, who is a police officer’s daughter. She is brought up with strong moral values and is extremely traditional and someone who doesn’t like to take risks.” says Heroshini Komali, excitedly to TOI.
The 20-year-old became a sensation after her mimicry shows, which she did along with her younger sister Devarshini Komali, became a raging hit in the Telugu states. In fact, the two are popularly known as ‘Komali sisters’. Komali Heroshini took a four-year break from her mimicry shows to groom herself for films. Heroshini Komali is now looking forward to the challenge of emoting in a language she isn’t familiar with.
