The government has launched a mobile app called ‘SEZ India’ that provides detailed information about the country’s special economic zones (SEZ), an official statement said. Launched earlier this month under the Centre’s e-Governance initiatives, “the mobile app would help the SEZ units and developers to find information easily and track their transactions on SEZ Online System,” a Commerce Ministry release here said.

The“Developers and units can now file all their transactions digitally through SEZ Online system and track the status through the SEZ India mobile app,” it said. The app, which is available on android devices, has four sections – SEZ Information, SEZ Online Transaction, Trade Information and Contact Details. The SEZ online transaction is a dynamic submenu that tracks the Bill of Entry and Shipping Bill processing status, besides doing Verification.“The SEZ India app also helps the Importers/Exporters track the status of Bill of Entry/Shipping Bill integration and processing,” the statement said.

SEZ India Android App Features & Specifications

1. SEZ INFORMATION: This is a compendium of the SEZ Act, 2005, SEZ Rules, 2006, MOCI Circulars, details of SEZs and Units etc.
2.TRADE INFORMATION: This provision gives access to important information/tools such as Foreign Trade Policy, Hand Book of procedure, Duty Calculator, Customs & Excise Notification and MEIS Rates.

3.CONTACT DETAILS: We see that the contact details of all Development Commissioners Office, DGFT, DG System, DGCI & S and SEZ online.

4. SEZ online Transaction: This is a dynamic submenu that tracks the Bill of Entry / Shipping Bill processing status and also does verification. The app also helps the Importers / Exporters to track the status of ‘Bill of Entry / Shipping Bill integration and processing in the EDI system of the ICEGATE.
This SEZ India app launch comes right after the launch of Bhim app from National Payments Corporation of India, NCPI, to bring cashless payments to everyone using the existing UPI framework. The SEZ India app was launched on 6 January and has been installed millions of times according to announcements.
