‘Gmailify’ – The best of Gmail, without a @gmail address!
Gmail has been known for its organization, spam protection and more, and now it is beginning to offer those features to users without a Gmail account with Gmailify. The new feature, Gmailify, lets you sign into the Gmail app using your Yahoo, Hotmail or Outlook account and use it as if it were a Gmail account — including account management, folders, spam protection and all of the other great Gmail features. In addition, you’ll now have Google Now capabilities with the other accounts, meaning flight information, purchases and more will create Google Now cards just the same way a Gmail account does.
Gmailify ‘Best of Gmail’ Without an @Gmail Address :
To use Gmailify, you have to log into your non-Gmail account through the Gmail mobile app or over at mail.google.com, go to the settings panel, and hit “Link Accounts.” Google says your mail will now be sorted into its social, promotions, and updates categories while travel and hotel information gleaned from your mail will show up in Google Now. You’ll also get faster search capabilities. You can unlink the accounts at any time. If this is your first time using Google’s client with a non-Gmail account, you’ll need to create a new Gmail address to link to.
