World’s Highest Paid Actresses 2016: The  Forbes has released its list of the highest-paid actresses of the year 2016 and surprise — J-Law tops the list once again in 2016, marking the second year in a row that she raked in more cash than any other female film star. The Forbes magazine tallied gross pay from 1 June 2015, through 1 June 2016, and the Hunger Games star took home a whopping $46 million during that span. That’s less than she brought home last year, but still $13 million more than the second entrant on the list, Melissa McCarthy.

1. Jennifer Lawrence – $46 million: The Jennifer Shrader Lawrence is an American actress has once again been named the highest-paid actress in the world. The Joy star-stacked up $46 million pre-tax between June 1, 2015, and June 1, 2016, The Forbes reported in their annual ranking. The final Hunger Games sequel (for now!) boosted Jennifer Lawrence’s 2015 income significantly, which was down 11.5 percent from her previous haul of $52 million in 2015.

2. Melissa McCarthy – $33 million : The Melissa McCarthy is one of the top-billed stars of the Ghostbusters reboot, reportedly taking home an eight-figure paycheck for the film, Melissa McCarthy’s meteoric rise through the ranks of Hollywood’s most bankable actresses began with her iconic turn in Bridesmaids and she solidified herself as a marquee name with starring roles in Tammy, Spy, and, most recently, The Boss. This year, she brought in $10 million more than last. The comedian is also seriously involved in the fashion world, as her all-size Seven7 clothing line provides her with yet another revenue stream.

3. Scarlett Johansson – $25 Million : Scarlett Johansson is an American actress, model, and singer While her earnings are cited at almost 30 percent down from 2015, No doubt the actress’ Captain America: Civil War paycheck helped land her in third place, as well as gigs like voicing Kaa in The Jungle Book. With several projects filming, including Ghost in the Shell, an adaptation of the Japanese magma for which she received a reported $17.5 million advance, the sultry-voiced actress might have slipped down the list, but still, shows no signs of slowing down.

4. Jennifer Aniston – $21 Million: The Jennifer Aniston remains one of the most beloved actresses in Hollywood and has parlayed her broad appeal into buku bucks. Cashing in is nothing new to the former Friends star who along with the rest of the show’s ensemble cast made headlines for the super-sized salary she took home ($22 million) for the show’s final season. She almost did as well this year, up from just $16.5 million in 2015. Endorsements and roles in film’s like Mother’s Day and Horrible Bosses 2 helped her land in the top five. She currently has several projects in the works, including appearing as a voice in the upcoming animated film Storks, and she also has two other projects coming soon: Office Christmas Party and The Yellow Birds.


5. Fan Bingbing – $17 Million: The Chinese leading lady cleared a cool $17 million in 12 months time. Stateside, Bingbing is best known for playing Blink in X-Men: Days of Future Past, but movies such as The White-Haired Witch of the Lunar Kingdom and a host of endorsements in her home country helped land her on the list. Not to mention that she’s becoming known as a fashion icon, of sorts. In 2015, she landed a gig serving as a judge on CCTV variety show Amazing Chinese, which helped keep her on the list, even if her earnings are down slightly from last year’s $21 million.

6. Charlize Theron – $16.5 Million: Just missing the fifth spot on this year’s list, Theron finally made a comeback after making the cut last in 2013. Thanks to a rumored $10 million deal for her reoccurring role in this year’s “The Huntsman” film, the actress pulled in an estimated $16.5 million in 2016 alone. Theron is also the face of Dior J’Adore perfume, a deal struck back in 2004.

7. Amy Adams – $13.5 Million: After failing to make the list last year, Amy Adams came back strong this year to make $13.5 million and earn the 7th spot. Her reoccurring role as Lois Lane in the “Superman” series was definitely the main reason for her high earnings this year and will continue into 2017 with the release of “Justice League.”


8. Julia Roberts – $12 Million: Moving down on the list from previous years, Julia Roberts reportedly claimed a comfortable $12 million in 2016. While her film “Mother’s Day” didn’t fare so well at the box office, her other big picture of 2016, “Money Monster” definitely saved her paycheck. Roberts also has a quite the impressive endorsement from Lancome, one that she signed into back in 2009.

9. Mila Kunis – $11 Million: After taking some time off from major film role to start her family, Mila Kunis came back this year with a lead role in the comedy “Bad Moms.” Film acting combined with her reoccurring role as the voice of Meg in “Family Guy” helped contribute to Kunis’ $11 million gross in 2016. Kunis also has endorsements with Gemfields jewelry and Jim Beam whiskey.
10. Deepika Padukone – $10 Million: India’s Bollywood Top Actress Deepika Padukone is the only newcomer to the ranking. The 30-year-old joins the list with Bollywood hits such as Bajirao Mastani, though she earns far less than her Hollywood counterparts for roles. She’s also the 10th highest paid actress in the world, according to a report published by Forbes magazine, earning $10 million this year from movies and endorsements.
