The BJP Leader Ex-Union minister Jaswant Singh passed away today morning following a long spell of illness. He was 82. Jaswant Singh had been in a coma for the past 6 years. In the year 2014, Mr. Jaswant Singh was admitted to the Army Hospital in Delhi subsequent to a major head injury at his residence. Mr. Jaswant Singh was an officer in the Indian Army in the 1950s and 60s, but later he resigned to pursue a career in the political field. Jaswant had served as defense minister, foreign minister, and finance minister of India.
He The hospital released a statement and said, “Ex-Union minister Jaswant Singh died today at 6:55 AM at Delhi’s Army Hospital where he was admitted in the month of June and was being treated for Sepsis with the Multiorgan Dysfunction Syndrome and the effects of Severe Head Injury old had a Cardiac arrest toady morning i.e 27th September. Despite the best efforts of a team of specialists to resuscitate Ex-Union minister Jaswant Singh, he could not be revived and passed away on 27th Sep 2020. His Coronavirus status is negative.”
In a tweet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the seasoned leader “served our nation diligently first as a soldier and later during his long association with politics.” “Jaswant Singh Ji served our nation diligently, first as a soldier and later during his long association with politics. During Atal Ji’s Government, he handled crucial portfolios and left a strong mark in the worlds of finance, defence, and external affairs. Saddened by his demise,” PM Modi’s tweet read.

Jaswant Singh is remembered for taking crucial steps to stabilize the Indian economy during his stint as a finance minister. He was the foreign minister when India undertook the nuclear tests in May 1998.
