Dr. Kannadasan Meiyappan, a fertility expert running a clinic and sperm bank in the lively streets of Parrys, Chennai pins his hopes on the clinic’s artificial insemination program that assures high-quality sperm for couples who have trouble conceiving. This is where the ‘Dharala Prabhu’ comes into the picture.
Prabhu Govind (Harish Kalyan) is a boy next door, happy go lucky guy, but unemployed. He falls in love with a bank employee Nidhi Mandhanna (Tanya Hope). Unrelated to them is Kannadaasan (Vivek) who runs a fertility clinic that is failing to get the result as promised. They need a healthy sperm donor. Kannadaasan finally manages to find the right donor to help his clinic in the form of Prabhu Govind. After initial apprehension, and some convincing, Prabhu Govind agrees to become the sperm donor. It soon becomes a big money early opportunity for him to live the lifestyle as he wants.
However, Prabhu Govind hides his sperm donation activity to earn a livelihood from his girlfriend Nidhi, which later leads to complications. What happens, in the end, is the basic plot of the movie. Krishna Marimuthu who debuted through Telugu movie Yuddham Sharanam directs Dharala Prabhu. It is a remake of National-Award winning Bollywood movie Vicky Donor. Anupama Kumar, Sachu, R S Shivaji played other vital roles in the movie. Screen Scene Media Entertainments produced the flick.
