The Andhra Pradesh Colleges Reopen From 15th October 2020, and the set examinations would be conducted in September, said Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday. The CM Jagan Mohan Reddy has also given a green signal for the recruitment of Assistant Professors in universities across Andhra Pradesh. The CM on Thursday held a review meeting with officials on higher education policy in the state.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister took several key decisions. AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy directed authorities to take the gross enrollment in higher education to 80 percent. Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh and other senior officials attended the meeting. YS Jagan said that apprenticeship will be provided for ten months in three-year and four-year degree courses. The AP CM asked officials to set up skill development and employment-based courses to students after the completion of their apprenticeship.

He also clarified that the three- and four-year degree courses would include 10 months of apprenticeship, another year of skill development training, and employment-generating courses. Also, AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy gave the green signal to fill the vacant posts of Assistant Professors in the universities of the state. Meanwhile, the AP CM warned that strict action should be taken against the colleges which commit irregularities. He also announced that universities will be set up in Vijayanagaram and Prakasam districts.
