Mahesh Babu unveiled actor Adivi Sesh Look test of the upcoming film Major, which is a biopic based on 26/11 hero Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. On Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s death anniversary, the makers of Major paid a tribute to Sandeep Unnikrishnan with a video of Adivi Sesh look test. Major is Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, Adivi Sesh reprises the role of Sandeep Unnikrishnan in the film. Produced by Sony Pictures Films India in association with Mahesh Babu’s GMB Entertainment and A+S Movies, Major is slated to release 2021.
Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu took to Twitter to share a video of Adivi Sesh talking about Major. He also paid his tribute to Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. The Sarileru Neekevvaru actor wished the entire team of Major for the film. Mahesh Babu is one of the producers of Major. Mahesh Babu wrote, “#MajorBeginnings to the inspiring journey of the nation’s undying hero, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan!! Best wishes to @AdiviSesh and the entire team! WHAT IS ADIVI SESH’S FIRST MEMORY OF SANDEEP UNNIKRISHNAN?
In the video, Adivi Sesh spoke about his first memory of Sandeep Unnikrishnan and nailing his look in Major. He said, “I can only say that he impacted my life from the first moment I knew about him. It was in 2008, I remember when I had seen his photograph, splashed across all the channels. I didn’t know what to make of it, I kept wondering, who is this man.”
He also added, “There was some sort of madness of spirit in his eyes aur hothon pe halki si hasi, there was madness and there was a smile, I couldn’t understand it. He looked like he could be one of my family members, an older cousin, and then I found out, he was Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and he’d given his life for the country. I couldn’t stop looking at that now-iconic passport photograph.”

In a statement, Adivi Sesh said, “I later found out from his parents that he was simply trying not to smile badly when he took the passport picture, he’d given this big wide smile and woh photographer ne fauran daanta unko ki aise nahi haste, passport photo mein hasna nahi chahiye. So the lips were hiding his smile but that madness in spirit was shining through his eyes and I think that’s what captivated me and captivated most of India. I think that picture is very iconic, that is why they make so many paintings of that photo.”

Adivi Sesh and the entire team met Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and family before the film’s shoot. “We had already said our byes to uncle and aunty and were standing near the lift and dur se aunty ne mujhe dekha and she said ‘Idhar aao’ in heavily accented hindi, so I went to her and she looked me in the eye and she said ‘durse bilkul mera beta lag raha hai.’ She had a tear in her eye when she said that. I think that is the moment I knew, that I had their permission to tell a story inspired by their son’s life,” Adivi Sesh said in a statement.
