K Chandrashekar Rao KCR Takes oath as Telangana Chief Minister For Second Time two days after his party won the state elections with a huge majority. Mr. Rao or KCR, as he is known, led his Telangana Rashtra Samithi to a huge win over the Congress-N Chandrababu Naidu alliance in the Telangana assembly elections 2018.
K Chandrashekar Rao was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor ESL Narasimhan at a ceremony on the lawns of Raj Bhavan. Along with Mr. K Chandrashekar Rao, Mohammed Mehmood Ali, who was the deputy chief minister in the previous TRS government, took oath as a minister. On Wednesday, the 64-year-old was unanimously elected leader of the TRS legislature party by the newly-elected legislators.
The party won 88 of the state’s 119 seats, the Congress-TDP alliance got 19. The BJP won one seat. Mr. K Chandrashekar Rao, who contested from his home turf Gajwel, retained the seat. He has a track record of never losing an election since 1985.
